You Go Girl!

12 Badass Women And Their Amazing Accomplishments

This month InStyle Magazine has released their 3rd ever Badass Women Issue and we are here for it over at POSH PR®!  We are such strong believers in Dolls in Business and having an iconic magazine support the same beliefs as ours is exciting! Along with the cover star, the magazine also features a list of 50 ladies InStyle deems as badass women.  According to InStyle, a badass woman is someone who, “celebrates women who show up, speak up, and get things done.” Doesn’t that just send chills down your spine!? We have goosebumps just thinking about it! That being said, with so many amazing women listed it was difficult to hone in on who our favorites were.  With some time we decided on 6 top picks from InStyle’s list of Badass women.

Alex Morgan

A well decorated member of the United States Women’s soccer team and most recently the co-captain of the U.S. winning national team.  When Alex isn’t playing soccer she is leading the fight for pay parity and better working conditions ever since March when the team filed a gender-discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation. A star athlete and female activist!? Talk about girl power!

LIZZO

American singer, rapper, and actress who confidently addresses hard topics such as race, sexuality, and body positivity. Here at POSH PR® we are such strong believers of body positivity and love all that LIZZO has been doing to promote it!

Sandra Capponi

The Co Founder of the company, Good on You, which educates shoppers about where their clothing is coming from and the impact that it has on people, animals, and the planet. As Boss Dolls™, we can all agree that clothes are a major part of our lives and self expression.  Therefore, learning their impact on the world is so important to us.

Lilly Singh

One of the world’s top earning YouTube stars and comedian will soon be becoming the only female late night tv host EVER this fall on NBC.  Nothing says badass like breaking social norms and becoming the first to do something!

Greta Thunberg

16 year-old Swedish activist who began protesting outside of the Swedish Parliament when she was only 15.  She is an activist for climate change and her impact has been referred to as the, “Greta Thunberg effect”, on social media. Who says you have to be an adult to make a change? Anyone with a voice loud enough to be heard has the power to change lives and issues in the world.

Shilpa Yarlagadda

Harvard graduate and Founder of sustainable jewelry brand called, Shiffon.  Along with clothes, every Boss Doll™ needs her fair share of bling to go along with it! What better way to spice up your outfit than a sustainable piece of jewelry.  You’re looking chic and reducing waste one piece at a time!

After reading through the issue, it got us to thinking, we wanted to create our own list! Here at POSH PR® we are inspired by so many amazing women everyday that we wanted to highlight them as well.

OUR BADASS WOMEN LIST

Cara Alwill Leyba

Creative entrepreneur and author who encourages women to live their best lives.  Best know as @thechamphagnediet on Instagram, Cara is constantly preaching making happiness a priority, celebrating yourself, and always saving room for a glass of champagne.  We couldn’t agree more! After all, Champagne Is Always The Answer®!

P.S. Caroline has been featured on Cara’s podcast! Check it out here!

Martha Gibbs Gottwald

Located in Richmond, Virginia, she is the CEO and Founder of an emerging fashion brand Neubryne.  Martha’s clothing features bold bright colors and with a mixture of styles from high drama to everyday wear.  This mompreneur is so inspiring to us because she is so determined to go after her dreams that she is not letting her current small town location create boundaries.

Jaclyn Johnson

The 33-year-old founder and CEO of Create & Cultivate, an online platform and offline conference business. She is one of our biggest inspirations here at POSH PR® because of her sheer attention to detail in everything she does. Whether it is in her conferences or her business, is on point. We appreciate this so much and strive to do the same with our pr dolls group and new office space coming soon!

Caroline Vazzana

She is a fashion editor, stylist, and writer.  She began her career at Marie Claire, but since has worked at Teen Vogue and InStyle (rather fitting). She has been referred to as the modern day Carrie Bradshaw and we couldn’t agree more! We got the chance to meet Caroline at The Create and Cultivate conference and were completely blown away.  As fellow content creators we really respect her level of creativity and aesthetic that goes into her work.

Gwenyth Paltrow

She is an academy award winning actress who started a brand and website called Goop. Goop stands for female empowerment as well as all things healthy living including beauty products and food.  Actress and business owner, what can’t she do?

Ashley Graham

She was the first plus size model to go mainstream after her appearance in Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.  Since, she has continued her career modeling and being a pioneer in body positivity. Let’s just say we thought we were obsessed with Ashley but then we got the chance to meet her at the Create and Cultivate conference.  Speechless to say the least, she was such a genuine and down to earth person.

As an all female Luxury Branding Agency we take so much pride and inspiration from hearing about all of the accomplishments women are making in the world today.  We celebrate boss dolls everyday and can’t wait to see who comes onto the scene next!  So, dolls, who’s on your most inspiring list? We’d love to hear about who motivates you the most!
