“Like She Owns the Place” | National Book Lovers Day | POSH PR®

You are what you repeatedly do, Doll. We know, we know. That’s not an original thought. (Some guy named Aristotle gets all of the credit for that one!) But it is a true idea. The Greeks capitalized on ideas like this, and we think it is pretty safe to say “the proof is in the puddin’!” They built a world-dominating empire!

Truth withstands the test of time and Cara Alwill Leyba of “The Champagne Diet,” has put a modern spin on this concept in her new book, Like She Owns the Place. Just over a year ago, our head doll, Caroline, bought another one of Cara’s books, #GirlCode. She styled a photo with the book, tagged Cara, and Cara reached out! She knew that a girl with the business slogan, “Champagne is always the answer®,” had to be a part of her boss babe community! A dinner  together in New York City led to Caroline’s being interviewed on Cara’s “Style Your Mind” podcast! (Click here to listen!) Cara’s journey is a “make-it-happen” kind of journey. She saw the life she wanted and created it! Total #goals to #THEPRDOLLS!

As today is National Book Lovers Day, we wanted share all about her latest work we’re loving!

Yes, her book does fall within the self-help, motivational genre, but there is an underlying theme that separates it from the rest. In her introduction, she writes, “Confidence is a series of repeated choices.” From the get-go, she abolishes the idea that there is a “how-to” approach to confidence. She is not a confidence expert because a confidence expert does not exist!
There is no “one-size-fits-all” road map. Instead, she shares how confidence is a journey full of the same steps. There is no such thing as having arrived, because as soon as you do, an unanticipated factor inevitably occurs.

Confidence is a result of consistent actions, she writes. “Consistent action to make new beliefs a reality.” Some days are easier to make those decisions than others. Some days, those beliefs can go completely M.I.A. She’s honest about that and we love it! What counts, Doll, is the resolve you have to find those new, positive beliefs once again and to choose them, once again. To remember and remind yourself that you can always begin again.

There’s another quote along the same lines by Antoine de Saint Exupery, “What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step. It is always the same step, but you have to take it.” Act like you own the place, doll. Take that step and build your OWN empire!
